About Your Teacher... PDF Print E-mail

Mrs. Debbie Popkin

Welcome to our demo teacher website!  In this section of the website, you can tell people about yourself.  You can give information about your education background, where you are from, your teaching style and philosophy, as well as what you expect from your students in and out of the classroom.

For example:

I have a strong literacy program in my classroom, and we will be immersed in reading and writing across all subject areas.  I love all genres of books and the enrichment reading brings to our lives.

A little about me...

I am married and have three sons; a 12-year old, 15-year old and 17-year old.  As you may imagine they keep me pretty busy when I am not at school.

I am originally from the Chicago-land area.  I attended University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. I moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1986. In my spare time, (and I use that  term loosely) I love baking, scrapbooking, playing with my sons and of course reading!

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.  My door is always open.  I strongly believe that parent and teacher communication is vital for student achievement.  I look forward to a wonderful school year!
